Short term visitors to Australia:


Eminent Tagore singer, Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, singing for the Melbourne's Bengali community at Melba Hall
on 1st November 2008. In the  picture from L to R:  Bimal Hawlader from Dhaka on tabla, Sanjay on octapad,
Polash on mondira, Bannya with harmonium, Swati on tanpura and Mohammad Muniruzzman from Dhaka playing
the flute.  The accompanyig musician on the keyboard was Gourav, (not in this picture).

Bannya and her accompanying musicians from Dhaka came to Australia to perform at two concerts, one in Melbourne
and the second one in Sydney, organised by the Melbourne's cultural group, Srotar Ashor.  Dr, Babar and Mrs Ahad were
sponsors for Bannya and her team for this Australian tour.



Hyder Husyn, lyricist, composer and  singer  performing for Melbourne's Bengali audience at Chandler
Community Centre on 11th November 2006.  He came to Australia on an Entertainer visa as a guest of
Melbourne's cultural group, Srotar Ashor and was sponsored by Dr Babar and Lucy Ahad.



Bangladeshi author and playwright Anisul Hoque visited Melbourne in November 2007 as a guest of
Bangla Sahitya Sansad (BSS).  
Here he is seen addressing the Bengali community in Melbourne.
